Many 1970s council estates’ prefabricated houses such as Levitt Cartwright and Wimpey no fines are made of prefabricated concrete and were quickly erected with little or no insulation in the 1960’s and 1970’s to combat the housing shortage. Over the years many of these council houses have been purchased by the occupiers under the ‘Right to buy scheme’ but they are very cold and expensive to heat because the walls are so thin.

The property is insulated by mechanically fixing a 90mm insulation block to the outside of the house. This is then followed by a six-stage process which includes a base coat, scrim coat, netting and three topcoats to get a perfect finish. This is literally like putting a huge coat on when you go outside. It keeps the house warm, reduces your bills and increases the value of your property.
